Writing

Jane Jane

A Book by Alice

About Me

I’m a prose writer, mainly one that works on novels and doesn’t finish them.
I want to use this place like an online notebook. I’ll be posting as I write, which means a lot of this will be first-draft badness.
Any constructive criticism is appreciated greatly.
I can be so serious about my writing, so basically I just want to mess around and tell a few stories. I hope you all enjoy.

Ah yes, that's probably a good idea. <.< I feel like I ought to join some groups if I want to get anyone to view my writing but a lot of them seem largely quite inactive.

You're welcome! And thank you so much for the review - you have no idea how much of a relief it is for me to hear that you like it. I think only one other person has ever read this story properly before and I know they like it too, but one person isn't really much to go on (even if that person is fantastic) So thank you. ^^ I promise I'll get around to reading Jane as well - I did read the first chapter on dA but I don't think I ever got around to properly commenting on it. Also I still feel rather new and awkward here. Have you joined any groups?

Ahaha thanks so much for your review. :) It was so sweet! I'm really greatful that you actually took time to read it, it means alot. And I know what you mean about reading things properly!
Anyway I can't wait to see more of your stuff on here! Your writing is really fantastic, Jane is... just, AMAZING. I really hope you write more, its literally one of the best things I've read in a long time.

Its okay lovie, your stuff is worth a second read, as I said!
You dont have to read my stuff if you dont want, I'd absolutely HATE to think someone was forcing themselves to read it out of graititude. :) Im just happy to know a fellow writer and to read your stuff!

If I had my life to live over
by Erma Bombeck

I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television - and more while watching life.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."

There would have been more "I love yous"... more "I'm sorrys"... but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it... live it... and never give it back.
