About Me

About the Author

Vivid in imagination, rich with colorful expressions of life, hope, fantasy and possibility are the words of Apryl Skies.

Skies makes a charismatic debut into the literary world with the publishing of her first poetry collection,

A Song Beneath Silence - Now Available

Apryl is a Los Angeles, California native whose creativity is not exclusive to her passion for poetic composition, she also expresses natural talent behind the camera. The photography within this collection captures the intense beauty of the world through the eye of a lens and the heart of a poet.

While inspired by history’s many brilliant poets such as Elliot, Cummings, Blake and Poe; Skies has established a modest following of her own. As a contemporary poet and author, Apryl has impressed the likes of fans both online as well as by her appearances at local poetry readings throughout the Los Angeles area.

Before entering the publishing world, Apryl focused her energy toward film with the release of her animated fairy tale series on DVD,

Polyphony

Be you and
Accept Me Too!,

winner of the

2010 Gold Pixie Award

a 60 minute anthology of puppet adventures, clay animation, computer graphics and poetry for children. Polyphony is now available at retailers worldwide and was a huge hit at the 2008 Coachella Music & Arts Festival.

When not occupied by quill and scroll, Apryl donates her time tutoring English and Literature to young people who would not otherwise be able to afford such assistance.

Apryl Skies, emerges into the literary world with hope, emotion and intrigue with...

"People often ask me what inspires me, which to me is a rather funny question. Being a writer I don't know anything that does not provide an inspiration, poetically or otherwise. I have many creative outlets such as painting, jewelry and candle making but none provide the level of satisfaction and retreat that the written word bestows. Being a poet to me is being much like being an escape artist..."

thanks for the suggestion, will take into consideration. I tend to like unresolved endings - typical post-mod B.S. move lol

thanks.

Thank you for accepting my friend request. I plan on getting around to reading and reviewing your poetry as I hope you do mine. In the mean time please send me any poems via read request that you would like. I look forward to the inspiration I know that you are bringing to this site. Peace!

oh gosh, thanks for your sentiments regarding my poem.

i figured that this would work more nicely if either i made it into a short story as you've suggested or i made it longer.

i really feel that i haven't explored each phase of the dynamic processes enough but i'm glad that you liked it.

i do agree that it is more visual than empathy-arousing. thanks for the kind and honest reviews. allow me to review some of yours in the future.

thank you.
