Wow. To think that an author of your skill thinks of me as one of the elite on a site with such talent...hell, lol, even that's hard to swallow, dude. LOL.

Yeah, on a site such as this one, no one could ever be the best because all of us are usually trying to outdo ourselves with the next bit.

Working on part 4 right now, as we speak. Man, to tell you the absolute truth, I'm loving writing this story. I dunno why, but I am. Is that obvious?

Holy SHIT, that's one hellova compliment, one I'm certainly sure I don't deserve. The amount of talent here is astounding, far-out. Such a statement is flattering as hell, for sure, but more than likely far more than I deserve.

Dude, as always, very cool to hear from you. Take yer time reading what I've got on my page, dude. I know how busy you must be at the moment, and it was never a rush-rush thing between us when it came to reading one another's work. Get to it in your own time, if you can manage. If you can't, trust me, I can understand that. Sometimes life gets in the way. School...LOL. We'll see, my friend. We'll see. Didn't get the gig at NYC, huh? Well, that just means that there's something far better for you around the corner, that's all. All you need to do is hold on long enough to see it. Nothing wrong with relying on family and friends when the chips are down, man. That's what they like to do, I'm told; help out when you really need it. That's what my family and friends, the ones who count who are really one and the same, do for me when shit's up a creek. That's something that's happening to me right now, as a matter of fact. Like you, I'm just trying to keep smiling and keep writing. Writing...along with a person or two, it's been my saving grace these last few weeks. Believe me, I've been writing like a maniac lately. Dunno what that means, but it sure as hell is hella fun, man. LOL.

Tell me, have you read Mystic River? I just finished it today, and man, FUCK!!! Dennis Lehane is the author...I got my hands on Shutter yesterday before I was even done with Mystic River. Yep, that's just how excellent a writer this dude is. You should check him out. He also wrote Gone, Baby Gone, which I haven't seen or read yet. Of course, I'll be reading it first. Glad to know yer doing aight, bro. Breathing's a start, right?

Your LA description was on it! I was actually surprised to see that you aren't in Cali. You put me right there, on the fucking crowded ass freeways. Definitely NOT my favorite place.

I would love it if you read my story 'People Like Me'. The similarities in our writing styles for these pieces is uncanny. If, only, the first couple of paragraphs, of course.

Normally I don't go around pimpin' my work, but this request simply had to be voiced.

It sounds as if your life is an ongoing adventure...you know me by now, Umstead. I think that sounds excellent. Is it a month-to-month thing? Lemme know.

Me? I'm aight, man. Living, breathing, and writing. I aint rich or in possession of all that I want, but hey, that's what makes a writer a writer, right? AT least at first.

The need of getting yourself to a higher plane in life.

Well, that's one of the things. Of course, the sheer love of writing (lying, lol) is the primary motivation for me.
