About Me

I'm Erika and I'm a 25 year old Author. I've self-published a small poem book called "Screams of the Outcast" a couple years ago and slowly selling. Not only do I like poetry, I love writing novels and short stories.

My Favorite Authors are Ellen Hopkins, Edgar Allan Poe, J. K. Rowling, J. R. R. Tolkien, Lauren Kate, Christopher Paolini, Christopher Pike and Heather Brewer.

Favorite music: Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Hollywood Undead, Bring Me The Horizon, Seether, Shinedown, As I Lay Dying, Evanesence, Framing Hanley, Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Journey, Queen, Linkin' Park, Bullet For My Valentine, Otep, The Agonist, SloT (A Russian metal band), Memphis May Fire, My Chemical Romance and a whole lot more.

Television ... I don't watch television unless it's LA Ink, Law and Order; Criminal Intent, Closure, Rizzoli and Isles, Kitchen Nightmares and some anime that I still have interrest in.

One of my newest favorite sayings: "They say that I can't last a day in the real world, I say you wouldn't survive one night in mine." -Asking Alexandria; Closure (Vocalist: Danny Worsnop)

My dream: Well, I have more than one!!! First, I want to be able to be a New York Times Best seller with all of my favorite authors (Including a friend of mine from Twitter). Second, I want to work in a major publishing house as an editor. Third, I want to go on my first, coast to coast, Warped Tour and meet all my favorite bands and get pictures with them ... Fourth, I want to be tattooed by Kat Von D, Corey Miller, Kim and Hanna Aitchinson (I think I spelled her last name right! I can't remember Kim's last name at the moment.) They're amazing tattoo artists and they are my inspiration to art work (Drawing, painting, etc.) Fifth, to be accepted by my parents that I'm going to be a full fledged author no matter what they say.

Inspirations: Andy Biersack (Frontman of Black Veil Brides), Danny Worsnop (Frontman of Asking Alexandria), Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan (Drummer for Avenged Sevenfold), Songs from Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, Memphis May Fire, Modern Day Escape, Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance and Bullet For My Valentine.

Currently, I have started writing a series called The Scars Inside. The title is actually inspired by a song called Scars Inside by Godsic, A Swedish death metal band that I've recently started loving. Basically, the book is divided in parts. The first part is about Cammeron (Cam) Bates who has schizophrenia. In the beginning, you'll see through the eyes of Cam and what he goes through, and how he handles dealing with hearing the voices that tell him to do vile things; including self harm and attemps in suicide. He refuses to tell his mother and his brother, Sam, about it because he believes they have enough to deal with. Especially after the death of their father that Cam himself witnessed a week before Christmas one year ago.

Basically, through these books, I plan on reaching out to people who don't understand what victims of schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and other questionable mental diseases that everyone has doubts about, understand what they go through.

So far, I'm almost done with book one for Cam and about to get started with book two for him. I'm hoping to get something published on it soon to give everyone a peak at what I've been so busy on lately to the point that I forget about the internet (though the end of the last week in June we lost power).

Update: I've started a new series called "The Shattered" series staring Dakoda "Koda" Alex Johnson. In book 1 "Broken" -the book I've started posting- he's a 17 going on 18 year old who's in his last year in high school and suffering from PTSD from years of child abuse by the hands of his mother who was arrested and put in prison 3 years prior to the beginning of this book, leaving Koda mute since then. Now, she's back to living in the house with him and his father and she's not changed one bit, besides in how she verbally treats him both alone and in front of his dad. At school, he's tormented by both his classmates and most of the staff because no one believes his mother, whom is friends with everybody, would harm him and that he did everything to himself. Claiming that his silence is chosen because he knows he's lying. But he isn't, and he has the scars and psychological mess as proof.

And I just realized I can only put one website in at a time on the website part of the My Account thing, so here's my other two sites!

I'm back, again, and had forgotten about this place. But now it's saved in my bookmarks and I plan on posting up my essays used in school once they're finalized and completely edited :D

Hmm.... :|

From what I know its basically writing a poem without using the whole ABAB "metric" meter (i think that's what its called...sorry, my knowledge of the proper terms of 'dissecting' poetry has gone rusty after high school ^^;). You just write a poem that doesn't rhyme..

I mean to be honest I only said I wrote prose simply because that's what people who have read my poetry call it xD! lol

-Shrugs- I guess I do now that I think about it...since I'm not fond of traditional structure of typical poetry...though I like to consider my style and 'structure' surreal and unconventional, if I may ^-^

BUT! I do admit there are a few poems written in the traditional way...or at least half-assed attempts, lol
