About Me

Expression is like a burst of acknowledgement and appreciation that we exist. I express myself best through writing, whether it be music, poetry, short stories, stream-of-conciousness rambling or whatever fits my current mood. In my spare time I play piano and guitar, and even mess around with creating electronic music. I'm currently pursuing my doctorate in Psychology so I can embark on a career in the realm of Neuroscience; what better thing to study intently than the thing which we, in fact, use to study hah--the brain.

A great writer, to me, is one who can draw so much emotion from their readers that the readers are inspired to use that emotion in their own writing and daily lives... Edgar Allen Poe, William Faulkner, and Friedrich Nietzsche are a few that stand out as gods of their particular styles... The Raven is the greatest poem of all time, and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, The Hobbit by Tolkien, and Then There Were None by Agatha Christie are my favorite books of all time.

I love aphorisms!!

"There are chords in the hearts of the most reckless that can not be touched without emotion" ~Edgar Allen Poe

“The harmony of soul and body--how much that is! We in our madness have separated the two, and have invented a realism that is vulgar, an ideality that is void.”
~Oscar Wilde

"It takes two people to make you, and one people to die. That's how the world is going to end."
~William Faulkner

"Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility."
~Sigmund Freud

"Plunge boldly into the thick of life, and seize it where you will, it is always interesting."
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
