Memoirs of an Egyptian-American woman. A survivor, a wife, a mother, bipolar, a rebel and in many ways loved and fortunate yet still a nobody.

Relating to kindness:
I am so grateful for love that expects nothing in return:
A baby's diaper is changed time and again,
Nurses cool the fever of a sick person,
A few dollars are given to a beggar on the street,
And people are seen through the eyes of compassion.
Relating to happiness:
I am so grateful for honoring the "child in me."
Eating all the brownies my heart desires,
Or teasing a kitten with a ball of string,
Smiling at puppies through the window of a pet store,
And having a fit of giggles over something silly.
