"Well, I guess the one thing that stops me from being a true imaginaut is the moneymaking potential... I have made my peace with the fact that I will never be rich from my writing or any of the other artistic avenues I occasionally zip down"...all I can say about this is that you NEVER know where your talents may take you. There was a time when I thought that my writing (and keep in mind that like most of us writers, I've been doing this my entire life) would never be enough to earn a decent living for me. Nah, before you think I'm living off the spoils of lying successfully (that's what writers do, after all) to people for a living, lol, I haven't managed to make this thing I call talent extremely profitable for myself. Yet. I've made a few dollars here and there, but for the most part, I'm constantly trying my hand at new styles and ways to do this thing, which is as old as humanity's opposable thumb. Up until a few years ago, I never actually thought I was talented enough as a writer to ever sell anything at all, let alone make an actual living from the craft. I'll never give in or give up on it, though. We'll see what happens. My point, before I started running off at the mouth about me, me, ME!, lol, was that you never can tell where your passion will drive you. I'd say don't give up. See, here, in my neck of the woods, we've got black widow spiders, brown recluse spiders, cottonmouth snakes and water moccasins, but these creatures learned a long time ago to stay away from humans in this part of the US...that is to say, The South. We eat other humans in The South, so a venomous creature or two aint so big and bad. Lol. North Carolina, man. On the middle-east coast of the United States is where I am currently. I guess I've gotten over these deadly little b******s just as you've gotten over yours. Yours just seem so much more...s**t, I dunno, aggressive than ours, though. It could be Bear Giles spooning small screen bullshit into my skull that's fed my disgust and horror at the thought of your native land's more exotic creatures. Lol. Who knows? The media hypes every little thing up here. Yeah, Good Ole George is gone the way of the dodo, although people here won't ever let him forget their opinion of him. Even rich white people here hate him, and that's saying A LOT. Lol. The New York Film School, eh? I say go for it. What harm can it possibly do, if you can get here? A road trip sounds excellent. A long glide across the Midwest would open your eyes like nothing else could especially if you've never actually been to America.

Well, think of it this way; Imaginauts are just crazies with lots of big, crazy, f*****g SCARY ideas that have moneymaking potential. So, if you really think about this sideways, lol, quite a few of us here are Imaginauts. It's a much cooler title than "batshit crazy". LOL. Sydney Australia, eh? Man, I've always wanted to visit your continent. Sweeping mountain ranges, the Great Barrier Reef, The Outback, all that crazy romantic stuff Australia's known for. I admit, I'm not so excited about deadly funnel web spiders and great whites that breed like rats off your shores, but hell, it would be worth the risk just to see s**t like the opera house and an authentic koala. Authentic, you know...lol, those in the wild not bred by weird zoologists with long mullets and creepy grins. Hell, I've never even been outside the US, so I've got a lot of traveling to do before I take the big dirt nap. This may be a tiresome question, especially on a damn near global site like this one, but have you ever visited the US? I'll bet it's great to be back home, eh?

Dude, I really, REALLY appreciate your many reads and comments. It helps to know that the weird things I've always enjoyed writing are being read at all. Once upon a time, these things, on this site, were quite well read. Now, it's all white space and a vague sense of disappointment. It's all gravy, though. I figure writing doesn't fade with hardly any readers at time. Look at Ralph Ellison...he's been dead for years and his work has never been more popular. LOL. I figure when I'm dead, the hundreds of shorts I've written will gain a faithful reader or three. LOL.

I am most certainly going to devour your writing when I have ample time, stating tomorrow.

I've got a feeling that you're quite the imaginaut, especially if you can stomach the things I write. LOL.

Interesting...you're from Scotland, am I correct? One of my favorite writers (in the comic format...well, s**t, PERIOD) is a Scotland native. Ever heard of Mark Millar?

Come to think of it, many of my favorite authors, both comic and literary, (although I see no reason not consider some of these giants literary) and European. Warren Ellis, Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, who by the way, is my all-time favorite comic writer. Morrison, I mean.

Heard of any of them?
