About Me

It seems like most of my childhood was involved around reading. I would really get fascinated by different authors and their styles. As I grew I mostly leaned to works of fiction. I still usually read at least a book a week. Very rarely do put down books and refuse to finish them; but their have been on occasions where I just give up as the story line just seems really lame and basic.

My favorite authors are James Lee Burke and Michael Connelly as both create and maintain great atmospheres and excellent dialogue. I have quite a few other favorites and am always trying new authors. Another of my favorites is John Fowles, who wrote both 'The Magus' and 'The French Lieutenant's Woman'. Although it has been quite a while since I read the former of these books, I do remember he had stated as he writes, the characters themselves become so real to him that they actually provide their own dialogue.
I began my writing while in High School and at the time I really wanted to be a writer. The prospects of getting paid enough to maintain my at best limited lifestyle seemed dim. However, I still wrote and it seems as I continued to read others work, began picking up better ways to create images with words, crisp dialogue, and realistic characters.
I am now retired and am still working to improve
my writing, so if you have comments, feedback or suggestions, I would really love to hear from you.
