About Me

HOLY MOLY MOTHER OF GOD, I GOT INTO YALE! No... I'm serious, I got into Yale. I'm just too happy. I never thought it would happen, but it did!

"There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line."
--Oscar Levant

I want to write in such a way that a reader is almost face to face with my soul carrying on conversation in all our flamboyance, clumsiness, and emotion. It's one hell of a task, but I'm also going to be one hell of a writer.
I am currently writing a book of short stories and poetry that I am planning on publishing. It's really weird. It's for a class. It is a really ambitious project, but I think it will benefit me in the end. How awesome would it be to say "I'm a published author" by the end of my senior year in highschool. I will be posting some of the stories and poems that are going to be in the book. It'd be great to get some feedback and maybe share them around so I can get some sort of audience. Thanks!

A few quotes I like!

“Highly sensitive people are too often perceived as weaklings or damaged goods. To feel intensely is not a symptom of weakness, it is the trademark of the truly alive and compassionate. It is not the empath who is broken, it is society that has become dysfunctional and emotionally disabled. There is no shame in expressing your authentic feelings. Those who are at times described as being a 'hot mess' or having 'too many issues' are the very fabric of what keeps the dream alive for a more caring, humane world. Never be ashamed to let your tears shine a light in this world.”
― Anthon St. Maarten

"Never bend your head. Hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye."
-- Helen Keller

“I am awfully greedy; I want everything from life. I want to be a woman and to be a man, to have many friends and to have loneliness, to work much and write good books, to travel and enjoy myself, to be selfish and to be unselfish… You see, it is difficult to get all which I want. And then when I do not succeed I get mad with anger.”
― Simone de Beauvoir

"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
--Eleanor Roosevelt

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”
― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

“There are three rules for writing a novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.”
― W. Somerset Maugham
