About Me

My name is Karli (:
First and foremost, I’m a Christian. I wish it was acceptable in this country for me to go up to the highest mountain top and just shout it for all the world to hear. I feel most comfortable at Church, or in a community of other Christians. Christianity is somehow represented in each of my books and poems. Jesus is my savior, my source of joy, and my truest friend.
I’m also a sports fan. Boston is my favorite city in America, so naturally, I’m a Red Sox/Celtics/Bruins/Patriots fan, and I never miss games. I want to be a sports journalist, preferably for the Bruins or the Patriots.
I also want to write novels, of course, but unless books are made into movies, authors aren’t exactly wealthy, so it wouldn’t be my main career.
I grew up in the Midwest, and the best people are found here, in case you didn’t know. And by the way, there’s more than corn in Indiana.
My favorite books are The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks, Seventeenth Summer by Maureen Daly, and the Princess Bride by William Goldman. My favorite author is C.S Lewis. My favorite movie is the Chronicles of Narnia. And my favorite song is Come Thou Fount, a church hymn written in 1757, but I love the modern version as well.
I’m a sweet person, but I’ve dealt with a lot in my life, so I have a quick temper and harsh words. If your views are different than mine (for instance, I’m a democrat), I’d LOVE to discuss them openly with you, but if you insult my views (especially my religion), I will hurt your feelings. Beware.
Get to know me. (:

Thanks so much :) I know he appreciates it. He's so exciting, you have no idea...

No problem! I love reading your stuff :)

Aww Karli that is SO amazing!! I'm celebrating with you!! Gosh, that's fantastic. I absolutely LOVE seeing life change happen in people's lives I know. I'm sure you won't be able to forget that... isn't it wonderful that Jesus can use broken people like us to impact even one life? What are their names?? I'll be praying for them (:

I just thought you should know that Brandon, the one I told you about who was trying to earn enough money to go on a missions trip to Kenya all those months ago, is going!! And, trust me, it's all a miracle, plain and simple. It's unbelievable what God has done and taught him through it all! And, I just think you should know your giving was part of the miracle:) So, I thank you so much, on Brandon's behalf! I'm so excited to see what's going to happen with him there and how many lives will be changed by the Gospel! :)

In some ways, I find myself thinking public school would be the ideal place to let others know about Jesus, because there is such an armful of lost people there, and, only for that reason, am I sometimes sorry I'm home schooled; but there's still so many people I can reach through my neighborhood and other places, so it's a two-lane street. I really am blessed to have the atmosphere I have, though, for school, I do have to say:)) But, even though I have no idea what setting it would be like to be in public school, though I know people react to Jesus with criticism, you DO have the advantage of being an amazing example to people around you!!:)

And, certainly, we are to honor all people, despite the fact we may not believe what they do in certain controversial things. Though, I must say, I do believe it's quite important to KNOW what you believe and why, especially, as Christians, from a biblical standpoint. Many times, we may say we believe this and that, but, often, we say it because we're going along with what others declare to believe themselves. Understanding behind it all is vital. And, in the process, respect and love for others. :)

Yeah, that makes sense. But what doesn't seem logical is that you can't pray in school. At my high school, we're allowed to do pretty much any religious thing, including missing days of school for religious events, leaving class during certain times of the day to pray (mostly for the Muslim students), or just praying in general, as long as it doesn't disturb the class. At least, that's what I understood. If our country really has freedom of religion, then schools should allow students to pray or do whatever (within reason, of course). I guess the extent of toleration just depends on the district.
