About Me

Hi everyone.
My name is Amber Jayne Spirit Hart, and I am 19 years old. I live in England, and have just finished college; I'm hoping to study for a degree in psychology at university in September. I have been in a relationship with the wonderful Matthew Simpson for just over 3 years, which is sometimes reflected in my writings.

I am a proud member of the Gothic subculture. This does not mean I am "dark and depressive" as the common stereotypes attached to our name tend to be false. I associate with the Victorian and Romantic branches, but also encompass Steampunk, and sometimes Lolita.

I am a proud supporter of the S.O.P.H.I.E (Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred and Intolerance Everywhere) charity, in memory of Sophie Lancaster, who was a young Goth who was murdered due to ignorance of our society, which is an issue that directly relates to me in every way.

Fighting prejudice and improving society is something I have been fighting for my whole life, and as such, is a common influence or theme in not just my personality, but my writings and behaviours.

I am a webcomic author/artist, but am, first and foremost, a writer.

My primary literary inspirations are: Edgar Allan Poe, HP Lovecraft and Stephen King.

I would love to be a well-known Gothic Literature author, and would very much enjoy hearing feedback and constructive criticism.

I am very easy to get along with, so feel free to drop me a line :)

Thank you,
Amber.

The story is told of a British anthropologist who undertook a field trip to India.
One evening he crept through the jungle and caught sight of an old holy man
dancing ecstatically in the forest.
The anthropologist watched this delirious, joyful display in fascination
until he couldn't contain himself.
"Pardon me," he said, "but what makes you dance out here, alone in the jungle?"
The holy man looked bewildered and replied,
"Pardon me, but what makes you think I'm alone?"
