About Me

I first began writing in 8th grade after reading Poe for the first time. I was heavily influenced by him and began writing short stories and poetry in his style. I joined my school's poetry club in high school and continued writing in my free time. My junior year I took creative writing class and began writing more seriously. I then took it again senior year (still in progress). I discovered Sylvia Plath which then influenced me greatly as I fell in love with her work, also later with Anne Sexton. Ergo I am mostly influenced by the confessional mode of poetry and mostly stick to that with my writing. I also enjoy works by Stevie Smith, Oscar Wilde, Emily Dickinson, and Louise Gluck. I prefer people to be critical when giving me feedback, I promise it doesn't hurt my feelings; and do please be as detailed as you can. I try to be critical when commenting on other writing, which by the way is not an attempt to hurt anyone's feelings, I tend to be blunt. I usually have cycles of periods where I write a lot and then stagnate for a while, partly because I'm busy with other priorities such as schoolwork.
