About Me

I'm a writer who wants nothing more then to be a writer.

Name is Kenny Pomaski. I'm 20, and have been writing seriously for nearly five years (Though I've been writing stories my whole life). The biggest influence on my writing-based life is when I watched the movie "Secret Window" with my mother when it came out. I was so blown away by the character and his life, and she said, "If you want that life, then keep on writing." So cut out the schizophrenic murder aspect of that movie and yes, that's exactly what I'm striving for.

I have just had my first story published (You Never Forget your First), in the Seascape Literary Journal. This story went through hell; over eight hard, long edits, more then a handful of thefts, and a consistent boomerang from me, to publisher, and back to me.
Couldn't be happier it finally got published! It feels damn good to finally get the story out there. It's just too neat of a feeling.

For the first four months of this awful year 2011, I did not write at all. But recently, I've had a sudden snap back into output and am working very hard at consistently creating and putting out writing. To combat certain slow downs, I have decided to write Month-long Novels, and so far I have one published on here (This Flag). Great tactic for getting used to writing novels, and an even better tactic for simply battling writers block/angst/depression/doubt.

(Don't steal my work. I've already endured it and, having now dealt with such awful people and legal-ese, I am now a lot more aware and capable towards not only protecting my writings, but fighting, legally, for them.
I warn you; I have no tolerance for Art-Thieves. They are the scum of all things. If I find any of my writings plagarized, I will act in the most ruthless of legal ways to assure that my writing remains my own.)

I am beginning to get to the point that I need to decide what I want to be doing with my life.

Writing has been a big part of it since high school, and I am certain that will not change. The context which I use that skill, on the other hand, might. I still intend to write creatively.

It is not that I am doubtful about the writing process. I am doubtful of myself all the time. No reason for that. It was the way I had been made.
So to answer your question, I have to say that I was thinking about privatizing. If I don't share my work here, then why else is the site for?

I might loosen my restraint later.

And, in response to your situation, I shall also dispose of my "author name" in place of my own to reaffirm ownership in case if it needs to be.

Keep in mins the book took almost two years to write and go through and reedit like 3 or 4 times. So think too highly of my skills

Good to her from ya. Love the feeling of seeing in print your own stuff, granted it hasn't happened to me in a few years, should prob start sending stuff out again, buy it's awesome and congrats. About to enter my third year at utd in the bio ore med degree so ain't had much time to write outside my crwt elective class. Been working with the teacher and am realizing how s****y some of my old stuff is. Rewrote dirt not to long ago and hit the black, plus some great new stuff, mostly serious fare.

Apparently the teacher is gettinghis book wettest country in the world made into a movie with guy Pearce, Gary oldman, Robert Duvall, Mia wakowski, and Shia lebouf. From the director of the road. So it's awesome when he gives me tips.

Got an agent who requeted more pages from my book so here's hoping. Going through an edit so that's why only the first 4 chapters are up, trying to gt them to par with the second half of the book which I did over half a year later. Still I think it's a pretty solid book, df from my usual stuff. Violent western revenge novel with spiritual redemption side. An lots of violence :D

Am slowly putting new pieces up so even what's up there isn't the final draft but it's close for now. Ya don't have to read it if ur busy or don't enjoy it, just long as u like it is most important thing.

You have mentioned that you have gone through eight marble notebooks. How many pages do these notebooks have?
Currently, I am filling out two notebooks of approximately the same size. I am not certain why I am doing it this way. I am thinking that I was basing it on research ideas... however I am getting the impression that they will spill into each other.
To date, I have filled fourteen notebooks and it hasn't been a year yet. I don't mean to boast about it though.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am glad that you have been very productive.
Now the answer to your statement. What you are comparing to is how much I seemingly write on this website. The truth is, I don't post my writing on this site, nor anywhere else. My writing takes place in notebooks... so I guess most of which is for myself.
The subject matter of the said material wanders around a lot, and a good portion of it is non-fictional (diary or journal) or concepts or ideas I am coming across. Some of it deal with my dreams, research from assignments, impressions, observations, etc.
What I guess I am doing is maintaining a writer's notebook. Something that I can use for any fictional work. I am not sure when I will decide to develop a base for fiction/poetry, but that may come one of these days.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please raise them. I'm pretty okay with trying new things out.

I've heard that you have been somewhat productive.
I have been doing better. Nothing for the viewing of others, but I've been writing a lot.
Anyway, just checking up on you.

Hmm, I don't know. Sometimes poetic lines do come out when I am not expecting them too. I recently found myself at this website again... the internet thinks the bandwidth on this website isn't good enough some of the days. I'm thinking that maybe I can get more participation going on the website again if I establish some reasonable flow from this corpse of a profile of mine. Well, should I look for you on facebook?
