About Me

I live in a town everyone hates, but which isn't actually that bad - it just isn't Norwich. People focus on that, and moan about it, and miss the sea, the fact that we have regular, frequent, 7-day bus and train services, until around 11pm, the fact that there's a large town centre, with pretty much all the same sort of shops you'd find anywhere else where the residents don't have a lot of money, and that houses here are actually, genuinely affordable - I live in a 3bed terrace that was £70,000 three years ago. A friend of mine, courtesy of an inheritance, was able to get a mortgage for - on one self-employed income - a three bed semi in one of the nicer, still well-served and connected by trains and buses outlying villages.

I'm a professional writer - people pay me to write content and copy, and I hope they'll one day pay me for my own work, the cornerstone of which will hopefully be the "Raglan's Streets" series I started this year - the eponymous first novel in the series is on Amazon now, and book two, Noah's Beasts, is in progress. Books three and four, Woman's Will and Inconvenient Crossfires, have been outline plotted.

I'm married, with dogs, I drink Bombay Sapphire and pineapple juice when I can afford it, and Euroshopper 69p energy drink when I can't.

Favourite books of all time are Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and The Colour of Memory. Also getting into Ben Aaronovitch's "Rivers of London/Peter Grant" series, and read through Alexander Masters' "A Life Discarded in one sitting.
