Tom Benson

Served 23 years in the British Army, completing my service in 1992.
Saw active service in Northern Ireland in the '70's and The Gulf War '90/'91.
Have since '92 until now, worked in Retail Management.
Living in North east England.
Married with a grown up son who lives and works abroad.
I read, write short stories, write poetry, draw and paint.
I regularly post poetry on http://thestarlitecafe.com poetry site with the pen name Tomfoollery.
Presently underway with a creative writing course.
I joined Writer's Cafe in 2009 but realised I wasn't happy with my efforts so following an absence for an operation my membership drifted.
I've worked hard to improve my writing and I intend to catch up with reviews before I post my more recent work.
Update - as of 23 June 2012:
I have now all but given up on poetry. My efforts over recent months have been put into two novels. One is an adventure which I am writing myself and it's now on the second draft. The other is a romance which I am writing in collaboration with a friend who lives on the other side of the world.
My writing blog/website address has now been amended to make it sound more professional.
