I stare into the cosmos

I am amazed

I have a strange fascination for tents
and the night sky bedazzled with stars

and the deep blues
and the salt white caps
of the oceans

and the lean of
the gurggling creeks
and the rage of the rivers

and the darker greens and reds and browns
of the woods
where the playful wind
howls
and the pines
creak and stretch and moan


and the painted
desert
with the rock
glitterings
and the ice
and the snow

and the morning
each morning

on fire

I breathe in

and exhale
