Hi poets,

This time I have a "Menke' form for you. Tovli introduced this one to me sometime ago and I'd like to offer this intriguing form for your enjoyment.

It goes thus:

13 lines in all

Line 1: 1 syllable
Line 2: 2 syllables
Line 3: 3 syllables
Line 4: 4 syllables
Line 5: 5 syllables
Line 6: 6 syllables
Line 7: 7 syllables
Line 8: 8 syllables
Line 9: 9 syllables
Line 10: 10 syllables
Line 11: 11 syllables
Line 12: 12 syllables
Line 13: 13 syllables

Note: This form was devised by the Jewish Poet Menke Katz (1906—1991)

Here is an example but you choose any topic you wish for your poem.

charts the way
of moon beam rays
starry highways spray
comet light rainbow hues
uniting cosmic forces
revealing deep space explosion
universal fireworks implode
star secrets kept in eternities safe
charting cloud atlas mysteries untold
I ponder the universal complexities
as a mere grain of sand in the big picture of life.

Looking forward to reading your poems. Enjoy!
