DetailsNew poet craft form: AmeriKu
Iowa-born poet and photographer Joseph Randell Sherman originated this form in 2007. An AmeriKu consists of 4 unrhymed lines of 3-5-3-4 syllables written on a nature and/or spiritual theme. These are the only themes an AmeriKu can write about. Remember, there are no rhymes and you must conform to the number of syllables per line. And there are only four lines to the poem. Here are two examples of my own: JOURNEY to this soul eager for Heaven happily I feed goodness # UNLIKE MAN Without qualms Lions hunt and kill Driven by Guilt-free instinct # Deadline: February 1, 2010 You can enter this contest with one or two separate AmeriKu. Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Copper Prizes1st 2nd 3rd 4th & 5th prizes!
