We've all seen the standard types of stories and poems that float around here. Lost love, unrequited love, bad breakups, people with mommy and daddy issues. The list of cliches goes on so long, I'd be here all day listing them. The key, it seems, is not to avoid them (though that's always good) but to put a unique spin on it to make it your own. That's exactly what this contest is.

Your task is to take any overused theme and put a distinctive twist on it. It can be anything you like, but the ones that win will be the ones that caught me most off-guard. The more original, the better
