Bringing Horror Back  October 26, 2009 - December 26, 2009

I'm really sick of this vampire/werewolf craze and all the liberties taken. I want to know that, out there, there are some writers who are writing original horror. This could be anything from a new take on a ghost story, or modernizing a familiar archetype of horror.

So here are the rules:

1. No vampires or werewolves. While the vampire mythology stretches to almost infinity, I don't want to see anything that could be placed in the worlds of Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse, Vampire Diaries, etc. Give me something original.

2. Cohesive mythology. Plain and simple: if you create a rule, you are bound by that rule until something happens that creates a loophole. If your character can't digest salt, this will limit a substantial amount of food he can eat.

3. No Scream Queens. All main characters must be dynamic and interesting.
