Celebration of Forms! May 1, 2014 - August 31, 2014
Contest Completed
Congratulations
DetailsFor May, please submit your best terza rima! I know, I know, this is a big challenge, but we're celebrating forms! A terza rima is fairly simple form. Basically, you can use whatever line rhythm you want (although iambic pentameter is always a good choice), but the lines are organized into stanzas that each have 3 lines. The rhyme scheme for the terza rima is the important part: it's linking! The rhyme scheme is ABA BCB CDC DED EFE etc etc. A terza rima can be as long as you want! For an example of the terza rima, you can read my "Proposal."
I am seriously looking for good efforts on these forms. I know forms are hard and some people would like to say that they feel "restricted," but if you are really serious about trying to become a good poet, you will challenge yourself to write in a few forms. Good luck! PrizesI will become your friend and provide honest reviews of your writing!
