Celebration of Forms! June 1, 2014 - August 31, 2014
Reading and Deliberating
DetailsFor June, please submit your best litany! I know, I know, this is a big challenge, but we're celebrating forms! A litany is a long, prose-like poem. Each line starts the same way (like a list), but the completion of each line is different but helps develop the theme. Walt Whitman is famous for litany-like poetry. A litany can be as long as you want! For an example of the litany, you can read my "Ginger is the Root."
I am seriously looking for good efforts on these forms. I know forms are hard and some people would like to say that they feel "restricted," but if you are really serious about trying to become a good poet, you will challenge yourself to write in a few forms. Good luck! PrizesI will become your friend and provide honest reviews of your writing!
