Take the mind's eye on a journey down two paths. In some cases a risqu� or sexual element is central to the understanding of the double entendre. Although, a sexual element is not necessary.

The Oxford Dictionary: defines it as a double meaning; a word or phrase having a double sense, especially as used to convey an indelicate meaning. In these cases, the first meaning is presumed to be the more innocent one, while the second meaning is risqu�.
