Essay on Contemporary Issues October 16, 2008 - October 23, 2008
Reading and Deliberating
DetailsFind an issue, crisis, topic, or anything else you have something to say about. Anything from America's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan to the current economic crisis to the genocide in Darfur. Do not use profanity as this would be open to the public, and as much as I might want to, it would not be OK for me to publish those works in a magazine also intended for youths.
Please read and consider the following: I am a senior in high school and I'm starting a literary magazine for local means in Pleasanton, California and nearby cities. The idea is that we support authors and publish their works and have another company fund the printing and distribution of the magazine. We then look for people who want to advertise in the magazine. This is entirely non profit, and all of the proceeds go to organizations such as "Save Darfur" or "Invisible Children." This project is intended also to promote reading and writing (at first locally) but then on a much larger scale, as I plan on creating a website for the magazine and making the content accessible to everybody (especially the authors). Let me know if you are interested in working with us and feel free to ask any clarifying questions. All submitted works will be considered for publishing, so do not submit if you do not wish to allow us the rights to publish (under your name of course).
