It's Serious IV  February 14, 2011 - February 28, 2011

No one entered or won the third one, so let's hope people respond better to this one. Here are your rules:

1. It must have been written after the start of this contest
2. It MUST be a story (nothing else will be allowed)
3. Finally, you must fulfill one or both of the following
-- The story contains a mystery, and one that is central to the plot and resolved (at least mostly) by the end of the story
-- The story has a full character/plot arc (that is, it's not just a snapshot of a larger piece, but a self-contained story) with a sad ending.

Because I'm demanding stories rather than poems, this one will give you two weeks to write it
