Thank you Sharon for choosing my poem "Snowflakes" and congratulations to Dee Lacy for her lovely poem that won her 2nd place!

The PHRASE I have chosen is: "THE SONG THAT I CAME TO SING" from

"THE SONG THAT I CAME TO SING" By: Rabindranath Tagore

THE SONG THAT I CAME TO SING remains unsung to this day. I have spent my days in stringing and in unstringing my instrument.

The time has not come true, the words have not been rightly set; only there is the agony of wishing in my heart.

The blossom has not opened; only the wind is sighing by. I have not seen his face, nor have I listened to his voice; only I have heard his gentle footsteps from the road before my house.

The livelong day has passed in spreading his seat on the floor; but the lamp has not been lit and I cannot ask him into my house.

I live in the hope of meeting with him; but this meeting is not yet.
from Gitanjali

REMINDER: The phrase"The song that I came to sing" has to be included in your poem, you may have it as a title, but it must be in your poem also.

The winner get to host next week's Keeping the Dream Alive and if that poet cannot for some reason take on the duty of hosting, then the 2nd or 3rd place winner will be asked in their place.

If for any reason you don't want to be considered to host but wish to submit your poem for others to read, then just mark on it JFTLOI (just for the love if it). Then the host will not consider you for a prize, but others will have the enjoyment of reading it.

Please email me with any questions you may have about the
