Metafictional - Cliche
"Metafiction is a type of fiction that self-consciously addresses the devices of fiction, exposing the fictional illusion. It is the literary term describing fictional writing that self-consciously and systematically draws attention to its status as an artifact in posing questions about the relationship between fiction and reality, usually using irony and self-reflection" (Wikipedia).
Think Deadpool, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Spaceballs, The Princess Bride, The Wars, the Canterbury Tales, The Neverending Story, the Discworld novels... whichever is your fancy. But try to keep it funny and ironic. Give me some breaking of the fourth wall!
No books. Poems acceptable. All other forms of fiction must be 2000 words or less.
