Most refreshing post-apocalyptic writing...  November 2, 2009 - December 15, 2009

Reading and Deliberating

Details

I'm new here and thought this would be a good way to start with a bang (pardon the pun).
Post-Apocalyptic themes are very popular in Hollywood and big media in general, relatively speaking it is a pretty new genre, but like anything -once it is identified it gathers stereotypes, repetitions and clichs. I used to abhor writing in these kind of sci-fi genres, I used to see it as cheap and easy writing, but when you actually give it a go yourself- you might find as I did that it ain't so easy. Let he who is free from sin cast the first stone.
***Can you write in this genre and blow people away?
