DetailsThis contest is for members of "The Spiritual Woman" group. I am 34 and, so far, childless. One of the best books I ever read was a series of narratives written by women who were ambiguous or even reluctant to be mothers, yet went ahead and did so anyway. It got me to thinking.
This contest is for personal stories, poems, and essays about the complicated emotions surrounding motherhood- like the decision to have or not have children at a certain age, to use my own example. Or, perhaps, what it's like to have a daughter about to be a teenage mom. Or to be that teenage mom. The stigma of being a single or divorced mom. Adoption, abortion. The joy of wanting to be a mother. Disagreeing with your partner. Being the child of a depressed mom. Anything goes here. image borrowed from http://www.alijanpour.com/MasterPiecesRed.htm Prizesknowing that you contributed to a subject that 50% of the world's population grapples with
