Open Call for Submissions for an Anthology of poems and essays by child abuse survivors.

There is no charge to enter your poem or short story. Limit 3 entries per person. There is no monetary compensation for works published. All proceeds from the book will be donated to a child abuse prevention program. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Submission guidelines are as follows: all submissions must be sent in by September 30, 2011.

Paste your submission into the body of an e-mail unless you have
obtained prior permission to send it via attachment.

Include your full name, pen name, home address, and phone
number.

If there is an alternate e-mail address where you can be reached,
we would appreciate it if you would include it.

A writer’s bio of no more than 75 words may prove helpful, but
it is optional. Publication credits are not required.

If you are submitting previously published pieces, be sure and
provide the names of the publications/issues in which they
appeared.

Please note that by submitting you are certifying that publication rights
belong to you, and that the work is original and solely created by you.

Submitting also grants us permission to edit for accuracy and clarity.

We feel that the anthology will help people who have been fortunate enough
not to have been abused as children understand how traumatic it is.
Articles about child abuse rarely fail to mention that child abuse has not
only been tolerated, but accepted -- even encouraged -- even in so-called
enlightened cultures. Let’s make our voices heard!
