the assignment is to synthesize a new piece by taking a quote from another author's already written piece.

we do this all the time already; we use someone else's words, or actions, or experiences and we write a poem or story about them. that's all we're doing here--taking a quote from someone's poem and putting it into our own story or poem.

browse the poems of the authors below and choose 1 LINE from 1 POEM to quote and insert into your own story or poem. make sure that you put the line you borrowed in quotes or italics or do something to show it as not being your own, and also list the author and poem title you borrowed it from (maybe add this as a note to the title).
