So you think you're a poet? (Round two)  March 9, 2011 - March 19, 2011

Alrighty. So.

Last time I made this contest, I got some pretty awesome submissions (and of course, some that I didn't care for at all - such is life). So, I thought I'd give it another go and see how we do.

That been said, write me something that's so amazing that I'll want to read it over and over again. In my opinion, one of the greatest qualities of a true poet is his or her ability to connect with the reader through words-- so, needless to say, I'm looking for something that connects with me. Allow me to feel what you're feeling. Something.

I would like to ask you all to try and avoid lame love stories and obvious cliches. Granted, we're all biased toward our own work in one way or another, so what's cliche to a reader could be gold to the writer... but I'm still asking in hopes of chopping down the amount of cliche and promoting a bit more of originality here. :P Not that I'm an expert. Ya'll have every right to hate my work. xD
