Reading and Deliberating

Details

I'm not very good at finding other poets that I enjoy reading. Perhaps I am too lazy to go clicking through a thousand interesting titles until I find one with substance beneath the header. However, I'd like to change that. So, I would like to see what poetry people will submit in a contest about deception. What are the ways you lie to yourself? What are the ways you sabotage your life? What do you do to hide yourself from the loved ones around you? Submit any poetry or short story about self-deception, addiction, self-sabotage or self-destruction.

I will be looking at creativity and flow. I'm not picky about structure or grammar (except in short stories). Let me see the fearless warrior who faces down the monsters in your head and laughs, all the while crawling face down in the mud of your own despair.
