Submission Guidelines: The Monster Within

They haunt our dreams, they�re in our movies, books and make-believe games, but they also live among us. Anywhere you go there could be a monster. They hide in our sewers, in our forests, in the abandoned building that you see down the street.

Monsters can be anything someone perceive them to be. Some see them as things that go bump in the light, or ghosts or some other deathly phenomena. But some people see monsters as human, which is why the term �monster� is so broad.

Jaded Silence Press is now opening submissions to a monster-themed anthology. We are looking for stories in the 3000-7500 range (query for shorter/longer stories.) We want to see what your monster is.

UPDATE 4-17-08: Shorter stories WILL BE considered, but are least likely to be accepted.

Reading Period: Until filled.

What We Want: We want stories of monsters. You�re more likely to place a story in TMW if they�re monsters not often seen, or even a unique monster. We want well-told stories that display both the characters and the monsters the best way you can.

What we DON�T want: We don�t want fan fiction of any kind, not at all. Reprints are ok. We don�t want anything that contains child abuse, animal abuse, pornography (or any of its other various names; torture porn, erotica, etc.) necrophilia, pedophilia, excessive gore without purpose and all of that other stuff. If your stories contains element of erotica or gore it MUST be done well and not just be there for the sake of having gore or sex. We also do not want to see tales of werewolves, vampires or zombies unless they are done in a unique or different way.

Formatting: One thing that we want is good formatting. Be sure to have the stories as Times New Roman font, font size 12 and double-spaced. Include your name and email on your cover page. Submit one story at a time. No simultaneous submissions. Send them as a .Doc or a RTF file.

Payment: We are a nonpaying market. PDFs will be sent out to contributors.
