Reading and Deliberating

Details

this is for all those people who may not be excellent poets or have not had a good writing day in a while. it seems to me that most of the contests here at WritersCafe are dominated by the big cheeses of our virtual writing world. i think that everyone should get a decent chance to get awards, so if you keep submitting to contests but never win (or are a new writer), here is your chance!!!

my selection of finalists will not be based entirely on quality. effort will play a considerable role. it will also help greatly if you use poetic devices, such as alliteration, imagery, simile, metaphor, rhythm, and rhyme.

in an effort to keep this contest kind of small, it will only be open for a month and only one submission per person.

a note to all you big-time poets: theoretically, i can't stop you from submitting to this...so i'm using the honor system. if you know that you are a really good writer or have won a contest, step aside and give other people and new writers a chance!! besides, i think i'll be able to tell if an experienced writer submits, and i won't choose their piece for voting.

in addition to a chance at an award, every submission gets a thought-out review from me.

good luck, everybody!!!
