WITHOUT WORDS  April 16, 2007 - April 20, 2007

I am merging the two contests from last week into one. The majority of contestants did not follow the guidelines which I think means it's a good challenge and those who write and win deserve the recognition. The cash prize can increase if there is a pool of donations given toward the winner's prize.

The rules are a little different this time.

1) No sentences starting with "and" or "but" - these words may only be used in the context of making a clear statement or connection.
2) Grammar counts. Your pretty instead of You're pretty will cause rejection.
3) Spelling counts.
4) Style Counts - line breaks, tone, etc.
5) Content counts. Vague poems do not make better poems than cliche poems. Stay away from common cliches, if you must use one, find one that is a sleeper. No crying rivers, bleeding heart clubs, etc.
6) Heavy rhyming is discouraged.

Any variation of the words below may NOT be used in the poem.
