Weekly Contest #3: Plotline January 19, 2015 - January 27, 2015
Reading and Deliberating
DetailsWe've all heard of the plot-mountain at one time or another. We've got our exposition, rising action, etc. But, for a novel, the mountain looks a little bit different. It's more like a mountain range, with your climax being the highest peak.
What makes a novel interesting is not just the straight slope up to the climax, but all the bumps in between, too. Each chapter should generally have its own little plot mountain, it doesn't have to be huge, just enough to keep the readers turning the pages. :) Write a chapter (or even just a scene), that includes an exposition, rising action, climax, and falling action (the difference with chapters is that most of them end in cliff-hangers rather than resolutions). Have fun! I'm excited to get a taste for all your writing styles and books! -A. L. Prizes$0,000.00, Featured spot, and review from me!
