DetailsFrom August 22 to 28, all West Virginia Poets are invited to write a Waltz Wave.
Ok West Virginia Poets! Our first official Friday Morning Prompt is (one of my favorites Waltz Wave. This form was named for Leo Waltz, who is the Web Manager of Sol Magazine. The form is a one-stanza poem with a Title. It must have nineteen (19) lines with a set number of syllables. The nineteen line stanza must use the following pattern (number of syllables): 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 1 Words may be split into syllables to fit the pattern. This form normally chooses a peaceful subject or one that is soothing to compliment the gentle ebb and flow of the lines. It is a very enjoyable form and you are welcome to offer 1-5 submissions using this form. The winners will be announced next Thursday night: August 28. 2008 EST.
