Wild Wild West  January 1, 2011 - May 31, 2011

I have always loved stories of the American west. I grew up on Western movies and books, as well as cowboy poetry, local wild west stories, and stories passed down through the family about my ancestors. I have also taken inspiration from these tales and written some of my own. For this contest I would like you to share your stories (and poetry) of how the west was won, a historical event or realistic historical-fiction story of the old west, or even the a telling of the modern cowboy.

Please be creative, but keep it believable (no vampires, werewolves, aliens, etc). Also, please keep it clean and keep the stories under 8,000 words.
