Your Best Mental Illness Story  August 27, 2013 - December 14, 2013

I am looking for stories about mental illness, particularly stories involving young teens or adults 18-27, but it doesn't have to fit in that category! Send me your best stories about self-injury, depression, bipolar, whatever. I'm touchy with stories about suicides, you can send them in, but I'd like the endings of the stories to be about the person being saved/recovering from suicide. Stories about the person being happy that they are dead/wanting to die won't stand a good chance of making it in my top ten.

I would LOVE to see memoirs!!! If you have a true personal story that you would like to send in, please do so!

I have not yet seen a story involving a character with Borderline Personality Disorder. A story like this would stand a very good chance of making it in the top 10. Lesser known mental illnesses that I have no idea about would also be exciting to read.

Even though the topic is very sad, I'd like the stories to be more positive then negative. Poetry will be accepted also, but since I get a lot of these, you're going to really have to blow me away in order to get into the top ten.

NOTE: this is an idea that I had in order to perhaps start a possible anthropology or magazine. I am asking for DONATIONS; you will not be getting paid, but credit will go solely to you and you retain the rights of your work to use them wherever you so please. Your work will be up for editing solely for grammar and editorial purposes, it will not be changed in a story sense if accepted. If accepted, you will have to sign a contract stating that you understand your writing was donated and that you hold the necessary publishing rights. If I don't receive enough submissions, the idea for the magazine will be abolished.
