Elite InformationA Lesson by The Old Ashes Pasting it to your reviews It is a RULE to paste your Novelists Elite membership information to reviews you leave other members of the group. That does not mean you have to paste it to reviews you leave other members of the Writers Cafe website, it means you paste it when you review people who are also members of the group Novelists Elite. What if you were friends before Elite? Oh well. After you both become members, information is required on reviews. What if what you are reviewing is a poem, not a chapter or a book? Is the author of that poem a member of Novelists Elite? Paste your information to the review. What if I have been a member of Novelists Elite for a long time and so has the person I am reviewing? You both are members of elite...? Paste your information to the review. If they have been a member for a long time, you show them that even though a lot of time has passed since they joined our group: today it is still helping them. Yet, still the question remains.. Why? The goal here is not to turn you into a walking advertisement for the group, nor are you supposed to become a billboard. Not the point at ALL. You see, groups on writers cafe are something writers cafe members mindlessly join and normally forget about the next day. They submit their writing and don't give it a second glance. And sure, maybe, just maybe, because they submitted their writing to that group they joined: someone over there will see it and leave a review. Question though.. how has this group helped them? Sure, they got a review. How do they know that review came from joining that group and submitting their work? Is there any way of telling unless the reviewer states it? Well, that's what members of Novelists Elite do. By pasting their info onto reviews they leave other members, they are stating: "This review is a direct result of your decision to join Novelists Elite. From that group, you are being given something right now. Someone is reading your work and giving you feedback." This has a number of positive effects. Some of them include.. That person who just got a review with elite info now has motivation to pay back to the group what they have been given: feedback. Other writerscafe.org members who view that piece of writing, be it a chapter or a poem or a book or a story.. see reviews with novelists elite information on them. They then see that there is somewhere out there where reviews are really happening, and they are motivated to investigate what novelists elite might be. I'd like to take a moment and talk about why it is also important to paste it onto the poetry of other Novelists Elite members you review. Writers Cafe is a website abounding with poets. The Novelists Elite is not necessarily the main place for them to go: but poets have something valuable they can offer us. Their time reading our work and our books. We want to motivate them to do so, but if they don't write books: they feel there isn't a point. They won't get reviews. By pasting our information to reviews we leave poems written by Novelists Elite members, we show that even though they may not feel at home with us yet because of our differences: This group is helping them, and we do care about their other writing. Poetry is not accepted in the group, but we still want our members to browse poems written by other members and leave reviews. It is important to paste your information to these reviews because you show that we value the artwork that is poetry in our group as well, even though members can not submit poems to the groups writing tab. On top of that, there are many book writers in the group who are also poets. By pasting your membership information to your reviews, you are a direct representation of this family and all we stand for. Our cause, our hopes, our group and our dreams. We trust that you will represent the group in a responsible manner, leaving reviews that speak well of our group and our family. That is one of two big reasons this course exists right now: to help you represent us all better. It is a big weight on your shoulders to paste your information to reviews, one I hope you will not take lightly. Please understand through all your frustration that you are helping our group grow by pasting it to reviews. You are helping people find their home with our family, you are helping those who have already found us appreciate their decision to join even more. Pasting your elite information to your reviews is the single largest thing you can do to help this group. It is a family rule. Please abide by it.
