What does read with your eyes not your mind mean? Well it means while proof reading your own writing you think it is perfect no mistakes. But what you are missing is the mistakes. What your mind is reading is what you want it to say. Sometimes you repeat words and totally miss it while you read it in your head.

How to solve the problem...
If you are in class or a public place where you cannot speak aloud try this. Cover one ear and whisper the story. There you catch mistakes.

Or...
You can read it aloud to a class or group of people or just yourself.

What about people who read their work aloud and STILL read what they intended instead of what they actually typed?
