Fiction genre is wide, open and numerous so just to name a few: Mystery, historical-romances, romances, dark, vampires, and writing. This is just to name a few of the genres.7.

You may want to try to write several different stories and in this way you will find out what your genre is. However, nothing keeps you from writing non-fiction or writing for children.11.

When you are writing for children you must decide at what level you are writing for- preschool, elementary, middle/junior high school and or high school. High School students can be considered as young adults. You still have to be careful in choosing your words carefully.13

At all levels children and adolescents are very impressionable. We must consider the audience we are writing for.15

We don't want to leave the wrong impression on child or adolescents. They will learn in time learn how to use these profane and vulgar language themselves.17.

Children and Adolescents learn this revolting language through someone else, the television set, and music. We do not need to use it. I think adding pictures to your stories making the story more readable, and it will catch the reader's eye, especially in the younger set of readers.21

It is up to the writer and or author to decide what genre he/she is goinig to write about and if they want to change genres.  The best way to find out what your genre is - is to write several stories and read them and from there you will know what genre you are in.23
