A great way to introduce pen & paper to your imagination. (UPDATED!!)

Picture It

It isn't always hard to discover a beautiful land with magical creatures and supernatural powers you or any person in your dreams may possess. Don't think too hard.

First off, you have to be completely inspired! Look outside your window and focus on the little details that complete a whole picture... These little things not anyone really notices are the trees, the clouds in the sky, the rustling of the leaves, grass, etc.! Even these little things not everyone pays attention to should be noticed to complete a description.

It could also be the feeling of the breeze hitting against your skin, or hair... Picture yourself in the scene. How do you feel? How does your character feel?

These things you'd like to add would give your work a little something more that would impress readers and captivate their minds into something unique.
An idea for writing down a vivid description of what you'd like others to see is to draw what you see, or imagine. It's a simple and helpful little way that can help you write down what you want your place to look like.

Another way is to look outside your window (like what was mentioned before), or just look through random pictures than can inspire you to create what was imagined.

You can in vision this for example:

"...through a beautiful path where the branches of a tree touched the water of the river and the roots plucked out of the earth just as fingers coming out from your hair when you run them through. The light from the sky was not as perfect, but from a distance, the sunlight's rays made the sky more beautiful with the hint of orange and green..."

Well, the description wasn't so good...

But one tip I like giving to other young writers like myself is:

"If it sounds good to you, then it is good enough."

Haz	Posted 3 Years Ago Sometimes it's easy to get carried away and therefore intimidated by describing a scene or a landscape, but drawing it would be a good way to cut through the crap and find out what it is we really want other people to picture. Good point
