Tell them what you do like.

"

Even though telling them what could be changed is important, make sure you also tell them what shouldn't be. Let them know that even though their story has its flaws, you still love reading it. Be specific:

1. Certain characters.
2. Favorite Places in the story.
3. Exciting parts that kept you on the edge of your seat.
4. Things you just like. Make sure to let the author know what it is.

Authors like to get constructive criticism, but it's also nice to know that their story isn't all bad.
