Should I Rhyme or Not?
Many people wonder when writing poetry "Do I have to rhyme?" and the answer is always no. Nobody needs to have a rhyme to call a piece of writing a poem. It just needs a lyrical spirit, a steady rhythm and beat, and it should create a 'movie' in your mind- a vignette.

For example, the poem "When most ponder about, should I rhyme or not?" has a rhyme, and it has a steady beat (think one and a two and a one and a two).

The main point of this is: you do not have to have a rhyme to have a poem. You also cannot call yourself a bad poet because of this, or if you get bad feedback, try to turn it around in a positive way and think "Thank you for the comment, I will try to improve on this-this-and-this." Having a good attitude will make your spirits rise, keep your self esteem steady, and boost your talent as a writer.

I think I will try to write free-verse, but I need to know the basics of poetry.
