What I meant by the water is that their passion was so strong, the image of a wave came to mind, the power of nature bringing them together.

crimson for me is the color of blood flames and passion not water. I hope that helps explain the poem.

you are correct. I didn't give much description about the angels themselves but about the believe for I didn't want the images of the angels to over shadow the meaning.
