After having been raised in the Pacific Northwest, ideally on an island, unlike any other, our family was sadly transferred to Texas in 1980, as part of the grand scheme of things. I lived in the Lone Star State for 30 years.
Sadly, it never felt like home.
Sure I had my friends and family. We made many memories together but alas, it wasn't going to be enough.
When in 2010, a family member in Oregon reached out and told me they had bought a new house with a guest room (FOC), and without hesitancy, I got my ducks in a row, for just long enough to make the move.
In 2011, I met an old friend from HS, told him I was in town from OR, and he asked if I wanted to move to WA. Here I am today...sharing my journey. It hasn't always been easy but has been worth it.
