About Me
I guess I should start with the basics.
I'm Nik, a twenty-five year old disaster. Between days of drinking tea, eating Creme Eggs and gazing absent mindedly out the window, I can be found loitering around England's beautiful historic sites. I am, more than anything, a hardcore history nerd. Ask me a question on English history, I bet you I can answer it. I want to go live in the ruins of a castle.
Uh, what else... I love music and films. I have a restless personality, so I'm constantly chopping and changing my style. Not that I like fashion. I can't be asked with it.
I'm currently writing some history books-more for fun than anything else.
I like pop culture, I write odd bits on modern culture for fun. I listen to loads of music and read philosophy-Wittgenstein, Nietzsche, Jean-Paul Sartre...
I tend to read non-fiction because I don't like outside influences when I'm writing stories. Plus, I'm a dweeb who enjoys using my brain.
Anything else you want to know? Just ask. I hate writing these. I'm supposed to sum me up in a few witty lines?
Here's some cool quotes I like from various people and places.
"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."-Friedrich Nietzsche
"I think being different, being against the grain of society, is the greatest thing in the world."-Elijah Wood
"You cannot please all through your actions and Art... Do it right for the few."-Schiller.
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."-William Arthur Ward
"Jeffery Archer on a show about lying would punch a hole through time"-Frankie Boyle
"I have no problem with religion. I respect all the world's religion. But I would say that if you believed in any of it, you are a moron. It's just like talking to your imaginary friend."-Dylan Moran
"But on this movie, a movie that had a lot of c**ts in it, it took on a whole new level. In the States, its the dirtiest word you can think of, people hate it and need a shower after you've said it. But over here in the UK, its positively embraced. Personally, I tend to use it in its typical noun form, as a term of endearment that follows a greeting, but I'm playing with it. I may yet experiment with 'c**ting' as an adjective."-Elijah Wood
