Country called Germany, II. After World War II, and this is a result of the political and geographical separation of the two names, from 1949 to 1990 (up to the unification of West Germany and East Germany) caused by the U.S. and Britain remained as the official title used in the political arena. Current official name of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland). Existed between 1949 and 1990, the capital of the federal state, the city of Bonn (Bundeshauptstadt out). German Democratic Republic (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) in 1989, after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, was annexed to the Federal Republic of Germany.
